Hi I agree with you to a certain extent, but I guess when technology changes all around you, you just have to do certain things yourself to "keep up" with the expectation and competition. It may also be termed as Peer Pressure
If it was not the demand of the market and driven by competition, till date hotels would not have given internet to rooms becaus "ROI" does not justify this
despite i am not in favor of replacing the human been by the high technology but still technology innovation remain the major engine to differentiate hotel brand from competition, in this case ROI difficult to be directly measured but the investment is diffidently need it to maintain your brand position and to be one step ahead the competition
